Management

Dr. Charles Torti and students in classroom

Students who complete the major in Management are awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA). The BBA in Management is structured to enable graduates to succeed in the competitive global and technology driven business environment. The degree specifically focuses on critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, leadership potential, ethics, team building, oral and written communications, flexibility, and diversity skills that are essential for careers in management.

The degree prepares students for management development positions that typically include careers in retail, hotels, restaurants, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, government, education, and not-for-profit organizations. Graduates are also prepared to pursue further study toward a graduate degree, such as an MBA. As with any professional program, the classroom component of the Management degree is greatly enhanced by direct experience in a business management environment. Accordingly, an internship program and field research opportunities expose students to the roles of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling resources in the accomplishment of an organization’s goals and objectives.
