Mr. Schmidt performed as the guest soloist and clinician at the International Clarinet Clinic held in Denver, CO and was honored to perform with the Luxembourg Symphony at the World Clarinet Congress in Brussels, Belgium in 1979. A former Professor of Clarinet at Florida State University, Mr. Schmidt has the distinction of having played the Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet by Igor Stravinsky for Mr. Stravinsky himself. He has been at SU since 2003.
