Mrs. Ables was honored
in 2008 by First United Methodist Church for her
thirty years of service as the Director of Music.
Her community service work includes the Kerrville
Performing Arts Society, the Hill Country Arts
Foundation, Texas Public Radio, the Salvation Army,
and the Symphony of the Hills. She is the founder
and facilitator for the Hill Country Youth
Orchestras. Mrs. Ables is also the founder of the
Kerrville Community MESSIAH Sing, the Community
Patriotic Sing held each July 4th, the Second Sunday
Summer Serenades held each summer in Louise Hays
Park, and the annual Courthouse Christmas Tree
Lighting. She came to SU in 2007. |
