FACULTY POSITIONS:



Assistant Professor of English (Full Time)

The Department of  English and World Languages at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of English (British Literature) and Digital Humanities to be based in the Department of English and World Languages. This is a tenure-track faculty position available August 2016.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in British Literature and considerable experience bringing digital tools and methodologies to interdisciplinary and literary research.  Examples of tools and methods include, but are not limited to, data visualization, computer programming, text-mining, graphic displays, geographic information systems, network analysis, or semantic web analysis.  The ideal candidate will actively participate in exploring the role of digital practices on the production of British Literature scholarship and creative work  in projects central to the humanities.  Must demonstrate the ability to teach digital methodologies to liberal arts majors and the ability to integrate digital humanities into a wide variety of undergraduate literature courses.  The successful candidate will teach freshman composition courses as well as introductory and advanced courses in both British literature and digital humanities, and will also be expected to contribute to the development of the digital humanities across the university.  Yearly attendance at digital humanities conferences and an active scholarly agenda based int the digital humanities required for continued employment and advancement.

Qualifications:  An earned doctorate (preferred) in English, ABD with completion no later than August 2016, or master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.  Teaching experience is preferred.

Assistant Professor of Education (Full-time)                                                                                      The Professions in Education/Teacher Education Program at Schreiner University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Education. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Earned doctorate in Education. ABD will be considered.
Full-time teaching experience in EC-12 school classrooms.
Successful undergraduate university teaching experiences.
Experience teaching a wide range of education courses for Teacher Certification.          Experience in teaching reading and content methodology .
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Specialization in Reading.                                                                                                       Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction and/or School Leadership or Improvement at the doctoral level.
Experience with integrating instructional technologies in teaching, including implementing online courses.
Experience in supervising clinical  teachers .
Knowledge of state accreditation standards and procedures.
Successful involvement with university-public school partnerships.
Evidence of scholarly potential, including presentations and/or publications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach introductory and education methodology courses; 4/4 teaching load.                             Teach Service Learning courses developed to provide student experience in schools. Participate in developing education curricula.
Serve as advisor to education majors.
Participate in university-public school partnership committees.
Engage in scholarly activity leading to grants, presentations, and publications.
Participate in service to the department, college, and university.
Supervise field experiences and clinical teachers.

ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITIONS:


Adjunct Instructor of Computer Information & Technology

Schreiner University invites applications to fill an Adjunct Instructor position for its new CIT Concentration in Networking (Spring 2017). The successful candidate will need a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. Certifications are a plus, however the ability to communicate effectively to students and excellent organizational skills are required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Computer Information Technology is preferred, but not required. This position will typically involve one to two classes per semester, but will be on a semester to semester contract as needed.  Adjunct Instructor Mathematics
Duties include teaching lower-level coursework such as Developmental Mathematics, College Algebra, Finite Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or Pre-Calculus. Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree in mathematics, but degrees in mathematics education or statistics will be considered.


 Adjunct Instructor of History                                                                                                                        Duties include teaching lower-level introductory survey courses, women's studies, and historical methods.  Master's degree or eighteen graduate hours in History required, PhD  in History preferred.  


 Adjunct Instructor of English                                                                                                              Duties include teaching lower-level composition and writing courses, upper-level British and World literature. Master’s degree or eighteen graduate hours in English required, PhD in English preferred. 


 Adjunct Lab Instructor Physics
Duties include physics lab setup, supervising students during labs, and student lab report evaluation. Preference will be given to the applicant with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering, but degrees in science or math where the coursework included undergraduate credit in Physics I and II will be considered.


 Adjunct Instructor of Business                                                                                                             The Department of Business & Technology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Business.  This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position available summer 2016. 

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  introduction to business, professional business skills, management, marketing, finance, accounting, or interdisciplinary courses in accordance with program needs.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in a business or related field, ABD with completion no later than May 2016, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in a business discipline or related teaching discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.

Adjunct Instructor of Business                                                                                                              The Department of Business & Technology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Business with an emphasis in teaching in the area of Finance.  This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position on a semester-to-semester contract basis. Anticipated start date is January 2017.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate business students in one or more of the following areas:  Introduction to Business, Principles of Finance, Intermediate Finance, Investment Management, Real Estate Finance, Personal Finance, and other Finance courses in accordance with program needs.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in a Finance (Preferred) or a earned doctorate in a related business field with 18+ graduate hours in Finance or ABD status with a doctoral completion date of no later than December 2016. Applicants with an earned master degree in Finance or a related business field with 18+ graduate hours in Finance are also encouraged to apply. Evidence of prior teaching experience in Higher Education is preferred.

 Adjunct Instructor of Computer Information Technology

The Department of Business & Technology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Computer Information Technology.  This is a part-time semester-to-semester (15 credit hours maximum teaching load per year), non-tenure-track position available spring of 2017.  The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  cyber security, networking and enterprise systems, client/service-side web application development, mobile application development, computer programming languages, computer game design and development, and other courses in accordance with program needs.  Additionally, the successful candidate will exhibit evidence of potential for research in the discipline.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in computer information technology or a related field, ABD with completion no later than January of 2017, or master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. Adjunct Instructor of Spanish

The Department of English & World Languages at Schreiner University seeks to hire one non-tenure-track (part-time) faculty member to teach basic Spanish language courses for their new interdisciplinary program in Spanish & Latin American Studies. The successful applicant should demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence, effective use of instructional technology, and capacity to integrate communicative teaching approaches in the language classroom. Experience or interest in contributing to curriculum-design are welcomed; Masters preferred but not required.
