FACULTY POSITIONS:


Director of Nursing Program (Full-time)

This full time, tenure track faculty position is a 12-month appointment.  Minimum requirements include a BSN with a current Texas nursing license, MSN, and a doctorate in nursing or related discipline.   The successful candidate will have a minimum of three year’s teaching experience in a professional nursing program.  Experience in administration and online education are required.  As Director of the Nursing Program, the individual will:

  • Implement the instructional, educational, and professional objectives of the BSN program and the RN to BSC online program
  • Work directly with the department chairperson, faculty, staff, and students to develop quality teaching, professional learning experiences, and public service programs
  • Continue review, improvement, and development of the undergraduate nursing program
  • Monitor tenure track, non-tenure track, and adjunct faculty

The director is responsible for compliance and communication with the accreditation standards of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Texas Board of Nursing.  The director represents the Division and is actively involved with nursing and other health care organizations on the state, region, and national levels.

Although the position is initially an administrative one, teaching is the primary mission of Schreiner University.  Therefore, the director carries one-quarter time teaching responsibilities (not to exceed 3 clock hours per week).  Scholarly activity, student advisement, and service to the university and community are also expected. 


Assistant Professor of Education (Full-time)                                                                                      The Professions in Education/Teacher Education Program at Schreiner University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Education. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Earned doctorate in Education. ABD will be considered.
Full-time teaching experience in EC-12 school classrooms.
Successful undergraduate university teaching experiences.
Experience teaching a wide range of education courses for Teacher Certification.          Experience in teaching reading and content methodology .
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Specialization in Reading.                                                                                                       Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction and/or School Leadership or Improvement at the doctoral level.
Experience with integrating instructional technologies in teaching, including implementing online courses.
Experience in supervising clinical  teachers .
Knowledge of state accreditation standards and procedures.
Successful involvement with university-public school partnerships.
Evidence of scholarly potential, including presentations and/or publications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach introductory and education methodology courses; 4/4 teaching load.                             Teach Service Learning courses developed to provide student experience in schools. Participate in developing education curricula.
Serve as advisor to education majors.
Participate in university-public school partnership committees.
Engage in scholarly activity leading to grants, presentations, and publications.
Participate in service to the department, college, and university.
Supervise field experiences and clinical teachers.


Assistant Professor of Psychology (Full-time)

The Department of Psychology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology. This is a tenure-track faculty position available August 2016. The successful candidate will possess a specialty in clinical/counseling psychology and a broad generalist background.  In addition to Introductory Psychology and a Senior Capstone courses, the successful candidate will teach Personality Theories and Applications, the Psychology of Motivation, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology courses, and Human Sexuality.  The successful candidate also will contribute to the establishment of an undergraduate Internship program.  The successful applicant should have a history of undergraduate research supervision as well as an active research program of his or her own.  Responsibilities include teaching, advising, participation in curricular development, and senior thesis reviews. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in departmental duties, committee service, campus activities, and engage in scholarship and/or creative activities aligned with institutional goals. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester. 

Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in psychology, ABD with completion no later than August 2016, or master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.  Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.

ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITIONS:


 Adjunct Instructor Mathematics
Duties include teaching lower-level coursework such as Developmental Mathematics, College Algebra, Finite Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or Pre-Calculus. Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree in mathematics, but degrees in mathematics education or statistics will be considered.


 

Adjunct Lab Instructor Physics
Duties include physics lab setup, supervising students during labs, and student lab report evaluation. Preference will be given to the applicant with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering, but degrees in science or math where the coursework included undergraduate credit in Physics I and II will be considered.


 Adjunct Instructor of Business

The Department of Business & Technology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Business.  This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position available summer 2016. 

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  introduction to business, professional business skills, management, marketing, finance, accounting, or interdisciplinary courses in accordance with program needs.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in a business or related field, ABD with completion no later than May 2016, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in a business discipline or related teaching discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.

 Adjunct Instructor of Computer Information Technology

The Department of Business & Technology at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Computer Information Technology.  This is a part-time semester-to-semester (15 credit hours maximum teaching load per year), non-tenure-track position available spring of 2017.  The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  cyber security, networking and enterprise systems, client/service-side web application development, mobile application development, computer programming languages, computer game design and development, and other courses in accordance with program needs.  Additionally, the successful candidate will exhibit evidence of potential for research in the discipline.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in computer information technology or a related field, ABD with completion no later than January of 2017, or master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
