FACULTY POSITIONS: 




Instructor of Biology (Full time)
The Sciences Department at Schreiner University invites applications for a non-tenure-track position as Instructor of Biology. This is a 9 month, non-tenure-track faculty position available August 2018. Applicants' experience should complement existing faculty expertise with the ability to teach Anatomy & Physiology and health science courses.
 
The successful candidate will have responsibilities that include teaching, advising, and participation in curricular development and assessment as well as implementing current best practices for engaging new science majors. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in departmental duties, committee service, and campus activities aligned with institutional goals. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester.
 
Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of a master’s degree, Ph.D. preferred, with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline completed no later than August 2018. Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Full Time)
The Sciences Department at Schreiner University invites applications for tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This is a 9 month, tenure-track faculty position available August 2018. Candidates must be able to teach all levels of chemistry including, but not limited to, introductory courses for science majors and non-majors, and upper-level chemistry courses. An expertise in analytical chemistry with instrumentation troubleshooting and assay development experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have responsibilities that include teaching, advising, and participation in curricular development and assessment as well as implementing current best practices for engaging new science majors. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in departmental duties, committee service, campus activities, and engage in scholarship and/or creative activities aligned with institutional goals. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester. Position is open until filled.

Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline, an earned doctorate, or ABD with completion no later than August 2018. Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.

ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITIONS:



Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of Psychology
The Department of Social Sciences at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of Psychology.
This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  introduction to psychology, life-span development, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, and other psychology courses based upon the program's needs.
 
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in a psychology or related field, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in psychology or related discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of Communication Studies/Speech
The Department of Social Sciences at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of Communication Studies.
This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  speech, introduction to communications, small group communication, interpersonal communication, organizational communication, nonverbal communication, and other communication studies courses based upon the program's needs.
 
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in a communication studies, speech, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in a communications discipline or related teaching discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.


Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of English
The Department of Professional Studies at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct (Part-Time) Instructor of English.
This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following area: freshman composition, technical communication, literature and composition, advanced composition, grammar and syntax, and other English courses based upon the program's needs.  
 
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in English, rhetoric, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in English or related teaching discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.


Adjunct Instructor Business
The Department of Professional Studies at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Business.
This is a part-time semester-to-semester contract (15 credit hours per year maximum), non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in one or more of the following areas:  business law, management, marketing, or interdisciplinary courses in accordance with program needs.
 
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (preferred) in a business or related field, ABD with completion no later than May 2017, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate hours in a business discipline or related teaching discipline.  Evidence of prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.


Adjunct Nursing Instructor                                                                                                                      The Department of Nursing at Schreiner University invites applications for non-tenure track positions at the rank of Adjunct Nursing Instructor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.  Teaching and/or Clinical Instruction responsibilities are focused in the areas of Adult Critical or Acute Care Experience, Professional Concepts in Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Nursing Leadership and Management, Maternal Childbirth Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Financial Management and Nursing. Additional courses are dependent on the expertise of the person hired and the needs of the program.  Responsibilities could include instruction in didactic coursework, supervision of students in the clinical setting and in the Clinical Education Center (learning lab).

MSN and an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.  Preference will be given to candidates who have a commitment to nurturing students in a small student-centered undergraduate program.  Ability to work closely and cohesively with colleagues is critical.


 

Online Adjunct Instructor of Management Science  (Graduate Instructor Business MBA Graduate Program)                                                                                                                                  The Department of Business & Technology in the Kathleen C. Cailloux School of Professional Studies, Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas, invites applications for an adjunct graduate level online MBA teaching opportunity in Management Science or related discipline.

Qualifications - Required:                                                                                                                     Ph.D. in Management Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.    Applicants should have a strong commitment to and be capable of teaching courses in the following areas: Management Statistics or Business Statistics for Decision-Making.

Qualifications - Preferred:                                                                                                                           PhD in Management Science.                                                                                                                   Postsecondary online teaching experience and/or business and industry experience.        Experience leading creative activities for students.

Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                     Applicants should have a strong commitment to graduate teaching. Duties currently include teaching an annual online course in Statistics for Management in the online MBA program. Holding a Skype for Business class session one evening per week for the seven weeks of the term. Assessing student performance and reporting grades to the Registrar. Current program is new and growing, so additional class sections are anticipated.
