Assistant Professor of Communication (Full-time)
The Department of Social Sciences at Schreiner University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Communication. This is a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position available August 2013. The candidate must be able to teach all levels of communication including, but not limited to, introductory courses for communication majors and non-majors and upper-level communication courses. Successful candidates will have university teaching experience in two or more of these areas: interpersonal communication, gender and communication, group and organizational communication, and relational communication. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate an active research agenda in one or more of these areas, as well as experience advising undergraduate students. Teaching in the University's groundbreaking interdisciplinary core curriculum also is expected.
Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and participation in curricular development and assessment. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in departmental duties, committee service, campus activities, and to engage in scholarship and/or creative activities aligned with institutional goals. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester.

Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline, although preference is for an earned doctorate or ABD with completion no later than August 2013 for tenure track. Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
