Coordinator of Purposeful Lives (FullTime)
The purpose of the Purposeful Lives initiative is to provide all students opportunities to have authentic volunteer, civic engagement and service-learning experiences that will help them apply knowledge learned in classrooms and major programs of study to the world beyond the classroom. The Coordinator will create experiences that lead Schreiner graduates to have the skills, knowledge, habits of mind, and dispositions to be successful, contributing citizens within the variety of communities in which thy will find themselves after graduation. The coordinator also serves as the volunteer service coordinator. This position will assist the University in conceptualizing, implementing, and assessing the Purposeful Lives Initiative. Working closely with Campus Ministry, various community organizations, the local community, and academic leaders, the Coordinator will provide opportunities for volunteerism and support for students to experience the ways in which their involvement in community-based work equips them for leading active lives as citizens. The Coordinator will also assist with retention efforts by serving as a freshman advisor.
