Mr. Sherman received his B.A. in history at Baylor University and his J.D. at University of Texas School of Law. He served as Texas senator from 1971-1977, president of West Texas State University from 1977-1983, special counsel to the governor of Texas, and dean of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of public Affairs. Mr. Sherman has also served on the boards of several foundations, including the Austin Community Foundation and the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. He received the UT School of Law Alumni Association Honorary Order of the Coif and the Seton Cove: Sister Mary Rose Award, both in 2009. Max and his wife Gene Alice Sherman reside in Austin. |
