The STEM Community supports freshman and transfer students interested in pursuing a degree in one of the STEM disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students will participate in a service learning project, based in the digital humanities, where they will explore research methods and utilize digital tools to present their findings. The STEM LLC also follows an annual theme to anchor its interaction with diverse fields and disciplines. Students are asked to examine their own beliefs and assumptions about human consciousness and connect their understanding of the human mind to the rapid advances in artificial intelligence. STEM community members study the ethical and economic impacts of technological developments within their STEM field and how these advancements effect different communities in society as a whole.
