Open to Texas' K-12 Art Teachers

Schreiner University invites teachers to submit entries to the First Annual Hill Country Art Soiree and Exhibition. This is a juried exhibition but there is no timeframe limit on when the artwork was created.

AWARDS
"Best in Category" award is a framed certificate and $100

"Best in Show" is a framed certificate and an invitation to have a one-person-show in the Schreiner University Gallery the following academic year.

OPENING RECEPTION
Saturday, August 29, 2004. All awards will be presented at a reception to honor the participants of the exhibition. The reception is open to the public and will be helpd in the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Student Activities Center's Gallery on the Schreiner campus from 3 pm to 5 pm.

ENTRY FEE
There is NO ENTRY FEE but the successful entrants will be responsible for the delivery and pick-up of their artwork.

SUBMISSIONS
Entrants are limited to three entries. Submissions for consideration in the show will be by 35 mm slide or by email. If by email, attach images as .jpeg or PDF files to dcsmith@schreiner.edu. Jpeg images should be saved at a quality level of "seven." Total email may not exceed 2MB. If submitting by 35mm slide please include a self-addressed envelope for slide return. All entrants should include a phone number and email address to aid in notification of acceptance into the exhibition.

ENTRY DEADLINE
All entries must be received by 5 pm on Friday, August 13, 2004. Acceptance notification on 8/17. Successful entrants must deliver their artwork to the campus on Saturday, August 21, 2004 between 1 pm and 3 pm.

There will be a tour of the university campus for those interested prior to the opening reception.
