WHAT’S NEW AT THE CENTER FOR INNOVATIVE LEARNING (CIL)?
IT’S A BIG IDEA -- A REALLY BIG IDEA
What are the big ideas and issues – both contemporary and enduring – that we want and need to contemplate at length and in depth?
What is justice? How do we constitute beauty? Is time a reality? What does it mean to understand one’s vocation or to fulfill one’s civic duty? Who are the oppressed? How is the educated person to respond?
EACH YEAR A NEW ISSUE
Announcing . . .
BIG IDEA FOR 2015-16
Each academic year Schreiner University choses a theme or “big idea” that asks the question: What are the big ideas and issues – both contemporary and enduring – that we want and need to contemplate at length and in depth?
This year’s Big Idea theme, “Unbroken: Your Story of Resilience, Survival, and Redemption,” examines stories of persons who have survived life-changing or life-threatening experiences and found redemption. The theme title is taken from Laura Hillenbrand’s book, “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption,” which is the common read on campus for the 2015-2016 academic year.
