Born and raised in
Aberdeen, Maryland, Ms. James grew up with a thirst
for the arts. Her love for nature inspired her to
draw and paint from the age of four and she was
always singing. She attended Frostburg
University in Maryland and graduated with a Major in
Art Education and a Minor in Music. She taught art
to grades 1-8 in the Maryland public school system
and then moved to California where she sang
professionally and trained dogs. Chicago was
the beginning of her training as a scenic and faux
finish artist. She lived there for 15 years starting
up her own business, Decorative Artist, Inc. in
1994. She moved to Florida in 2004 and worked
for the Museum of Vero Beach as an outreach and
workshop instructor. In 2006, Diana moved to
Kerrville Texas, where she is now the Director of
Education for the Museum of Western Art and teaches
the Principles of Drawing here at Schreiner. |
