The Humanities major is a multidisciplinary combination of courses
at the advanced level supported by breadth of work at the lower level.
This major serves students seeking preparation
broader than that available in a single discipline.
A major in Humanities consists of 21 hours collateral courses including
PHIL 1301 plus the
following: ENGL 2341, MUSC 1303, THRE 1301, RELI 1303 or 1320, ART
2340, and either
ART 1301, ART 1340, ART 2310 or ART 2322. The 24 advanced hours include
ART 3341,
THRE 3301 or 3302, HIST 3326, PHIL 3340 or 3351 and the Senior Project.
Nine hours must be selected from upper level Art, English, History,
Music, Philosophy, Religion or Theatre.
The capstone experience may be satisfied by the senior project or
an alternative course accepted
in the following majors: English, History, Philosophy or Religion.
