New Student Orientation

Welcome, Future Mountaineer!
As an incoming new student you will be attending Mountaineer Days. Please review the following information before you begin your registration process. If you have not completed one of the steps, simply click on the item and it will take you to the correct web page.



Mountaineer Days (MD1)
June 19-20, 2015  (Friday & Saturday)

For traditional age, first-time freshmen who have graduated from high school within the past year.

INFORMATION FOR NEW STUDENTS

  • A $75 orientation fee will be applied to your student account
  • Confirm Financial Aid Package
  • Need a monthly payment plan to pay your balance? Schreiner University offers interest-free payment plans that are administered by Tuition Management Systems (TMS). They can be reached at www.afford.com or 1-800-722-4867.
  • Email the Admission Office for details and information
  • All students coming to orientation (including commuters) are required to stay on campus for Mountaineer Days
  • Review the Checklist below to know what to bring to orientation

New Freshman students must establish a payment plan prior to attending their prospective Orientation or make full payment no later than August 1.  New Transfer students must make full payment or establish a payment plan by August 1 to retain classes and housing assignments for Fall semester.  New Students registering after August 1 must contact Financial Services within the next business day to complete the registration process.



CHECKLIST
Complete these items prior to Orientation

FINANCIAL AID ITEMS TO COMPLETE PRIOR TO ATTENDING ORIENTATION:

  • Complete the FAFSA
  • Submit ALL requested documents
  • Review Award Letter and Accept/Decline Aid in NetPartner
  • Complete Entrance Loan Counseling if Borrowing Student Loan Funds
  • Complete a Promissory Note if Borrowing Student Loan Funds


FINANCIAL SERVICES OFFICE ITEMS TO REVIEW PRIOR TO ATTENDING ORIENTATION:



ITEMS TO BRING TO ORIENTATION:

  • Completed Health History Form
  • Copy of Immunization Records including State-required Meningitis Vaccination
  • Valid photo I.D.
  • Financial Aid documentation (if applicable)
  • License plate number (for your parking permit)
  • Comfy shoes (sneakers are suggested)
  • Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Towels (at least 1)
  • Twin sheets, blanket & pillow
  • Comfortable clothes to play in
  • An open mind and lots of questions!

If you are a residential student, you will need to complete:

  • Housing Application Fall 2014 (submit electronically)
  • Documented medical proof of meningitis vaccination (submit to Health & Wellness)


If you are a commuter student, you will need to complete:

  • Commuter Information Form (submit electronically)


For your convenience the following offices are available to serve you during Mountaineer Days:

  • Admission & Financial Aid Office: 8:00am - 5:00pm & Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm
  • The Financial Services Office:  9:00am – 4:00pm & Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm
  • Bookstore: Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm & Saturday 11:00 - 1:30pm


CAMPUS PARKING:  For orientation, please park in Lot A or Lot B

  • Lot A is located in front of the Elaine Griffith Welcome Center & the Cailloux Campus Activities Center
  • Lot B is located across from Lot A in front of Delaney Residence Hall.
