New Student Orientation

Welcome, Future Mountaineer!
As an incoming new student you will be attending Mountaineer Days summer orientation.

Please review the important final steps to complete before begin your registration process. If you have not completed one of the steps, simply click on the item and it will take you to the correct web page.


NEW FRESHMEN - PICK FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING THREE DATES:

REGISTER ONLINE ON YOUR SCHREINER ONE ACCOUNT 

Mountaineer Days (MD1)
Friday, June 16th - Saturday, June 17th, 2017

For traditional age, first-time freshmen who have graduated from high school within the past year.

Mountaineer Days (MD2)
Friday, July 7th - Saturday, July 8th, 2017

For traditional age, first-time freshmen who have graduated from high school within the past year.

-OR-

Mountaineer Days (MD3)
Friday, July 28th - Saturday, July 29th, 2017
For traditional age, first-time freshmen who have graduated from high school within the past year.



IMPORTANT FINAL STEPS FOR NEW STUDENTS

Please note that the financial steps must be completed BEFORE you attend Mountaineer Days. Contact your Admission Counselor if you have any questions on these steps:

FINANCIAL AID ITEMS TO COMPLETE PRIOR TO ATTENDING ORIENTATION:

  • Complete the FAFSA
  • Submit ALL requested documents
  • Review Award Letter and Accept/Decline Aid on your Schreiner One account
  • Complete Entrance Loan Counseling if Borrowing Student Loan Funds
  • Complete a Promissory Note if Borrowing Student Loan Funds


ACCOUNTING SERVICE ITEMS TO COMPLETE PRIOR TO ATTENDING ORIENTATION:

New Freshman students must establish a payment plan prior to attending their Orientation or make full payment no later than August 1. New Students registering after August 1 must contact Accounting Services within the next business day to complete the registration process.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MOUNTAINEER DAYS

  • A $100 orientation fee will be charged to your first bill for the fall
  • All students coming to orientation (including commuters) are required to stay overnight on campus for Mountaineer Days
  • Review the Checklist below to know what to bring to orientation and to stay overnight

ITEMS TO BRING TO ORIENTATION:

  • Completed Health History Form on your Schreiner One account
  • Copy of the state-required Meningitis Vaccination
  • Valid photo I.D.
  • Financial Aid documentation (if applicable)
  • License plate number (for your parking permit)
  • Comfy shoes (sneakers are suggested)
  • Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Towels (at least 1)
  • Twin sheets, blanket & pillow
  • Comfortable clothes to play in
  • An open mind and lots of questions!

 



For your convenience the following offices are available to serve you during Mountaineer Days:

  • Financial Aid Office: 8:00am - 5:00pm & Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm
    • Limited appointments available - families are strongly encouraged to contact the office prior to orientation as appointments are available all summer
  • The Accounting Services Office: 8:00am – 5:00pm & Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm
    • Limited appointments available - families are strongly encouraged to contact the office prior to orientation as appointments are available all summer
  • Bookstore: Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm & Saturday 9:00am - 2:00pm


CAMPUS PARKING:  For orientation, please park in Lot A or Lot B

  • Lot A is located in front of the Elaine Griffith Welcome Center & the Cailloux Campus Activities Center
  • Lot B is located across from Lot A in front of Delaney Residence Hall.
