An Ally!
To become an Ally, you must attend a training session, hosted twice
each long semester, one during a lunch period and one for dinner. As always, a meal will be provided.

Next training session
Nov. 21, 2008 at 12-2:30pm
Library’s Scarle Philips Room
Lunch provided
RSVP preferred
The
biggest step you must complete to becoming an ALLY is completing a
training session.
Food and refreshments will be provided (please let us know if you
are vegetarian). Maximum capacity is 20 trainees, so arrive early or
RSVP to insure a spot . Send an
email to
alliedadvance@schreiner.edu or
spschmidt@schreiner.edu
if you are interested.
WHY do
YOU need to attend a training session? First, if you take the
training you are NOT obligated to join ALLIES. The information
offered during the session can help you make up your mind if you
want to join. For those that become an ALLY, the training session
offers a chance to learn about issues facing GLB&Q individuals and
how to respond if someone needs support.
Schreiner1:
We are
now a group on Schreiner1. You are not automatically added even
if you are already a member of Allied Advance.
To join: login to the Schreiner1 site (info.schreiner.edu),
click on the ‘Campus Life’ tab. Under ‘Campus Groups’, click
on ‘Browse Groups’, and choose ‘Allied Advance’ from the list (under
“Cultures and Communities”). An email will be sent to a group leader
so that they can add you. If you do not receive a response back, you
haven’t been added (most likely by accident). If this happens, try
again.
Facebook:
Students that have profiles on Facebook are encouraged to
join the Ally group there! Just search for ‘Allied Advance’...
