Schreiner University Staff Artists Hold Two-Person Show

By Bill Drake

Schreiner University will host a reception for two artists, Vicki Mullins and Stephanie Lopez, who are also members of Schreiner's graphic design team.

The reception will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on October 5 at the Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on Schreiner Campus. The show, entitled ‘Elements of Reflection' will hang from October 5 to November 3. Both the reception and the show are free and open to the public.

Mullins, a Schreiner graduate, has been an award-winning professional artist for over 20 years, and in addition to her university position she is a well-known free-lance designer. Her works use vibrant colors layered in startling, pleasing contrasts and offer the viewer a glimpse into hidden dimensions beyond the obvious. VIEW GALLERY OF VICKI MULLINS' WORK >

Lopez, a well-known San Antonio artist and designer, works with bold, mysterious forms and subdued, subtle shades of color to present perspectives on an imaginative, organic landscape. In addition to her work at Schreiner, Lopez also operates a successful free-lance design business, and produces a line of hand-made special occasion greeting cards that emphasize Hispanic heritage themes. In their staff positions at Schreiner, both artists are responsible for the bold new look and feel of Schreiner multimedia communications in the university's print publications.
