In the
spring of 2001, a lecture/video series, entitled “Speak
Truth to Power”, was instituted at Schreiner University as
an extracurricular event in the evenings that stimulated
discussion and dialogue between members of the University
and the community. It is believed that the best way to
stimulate this discussion is to offer “different voices” or
controversial speakers/programs – at least speakers and
programs outside the mainstream media, but who still “spoke
the truth” (taken from a Quaker document).
