I have worked in food service for over 30 years and for 16 of those I have been a certified dietary manager. I came to Sodexo in 2003. I am also certified in food protection and safety. I was raised in South Florida and came to Kerrville in 1979 and have been here ever since.

Sodexo has the cafeteria/catering contract for the campus. I am the
liaison between Schreiner and Sodexo for the student meal plans.
I maintain the Odyssey system which is the software program that processes their plans. We do not sign up students for meal plans here at Sodexo, but we do manage each student's use of the plan including receiving additional monies added to their cards. Commuters who are not on any type of plan often come to my office to set themselves up with a pre-paid account so they don't have to pay each time. I am also responsible for A/R & A/P for catering, camp
and board invoicing. Anyone who has a question about their meal plan
(except for cost/signing up) or wants to inquire about setting up an account,
can call me at Sodexo's office 896-2347.

Chef Martino Ortega has been in the foodservice industry for over 24 years. Chef Martino Ortega started in the foodservice industry in Santa Fe, NM at The Hotel St. Francis, Coyote Café, and Pranzo’s Restaurant in the early 90’s Chef Martino Ortega managed Marriott Hotel restaurants throughout the United States and proceeded to contract foodservice corporations that managed Universities, Factories and Business / Industry foodservices.
Prior to his current position, Chef Martino Ortega held the Executive Chef position for ARAMARK Corporation at UTSA and Ardent Hotel Advisors in Santa Fe, NM at The Courtyard by Marriott. Chef Martino Ortega has held a number of Executive Chef Positions including Regional Executive Chef for Sodexho\Marriott Corporation in the Southeastern Region, as well as private chef for Arch Bishop Sheehan of the Arch Diocese of Santa Fe. Chef Martino Ortega has entertained dignitaries, guests of high profile such as Prince Andrew of Cambridge. Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico, President Vicente Fox of Mexico to name a few.
Chef Martino Ortega is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. With continuing education at Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina and Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley.
Chef Martino Ortega holds several Awards ranging from Gold to Bronze medals, certificates of achievements in culinary arts and community recognition.
Chef Martino Ortega, his wife Mara, and their two boys reside in Boerne, Texas.
