How long have you been with SU?
Since 2002

Favorite movie:  "The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima" & "Steel Magnolias"

Favorite food:

I savor highly spiced dishes -- love Mexican, Cajun, Indian, as well as Italian. In other words, I have an international pallet.

Favorite type of music:  Soft, slow music. Something easy to dance to.

Favorite vacation spot:  I love Santa Fe, New Mexico, but I still love the sites of Texas and try to find a new spot to visit whenever possible.

Favorite book:
"The Book of Ruth" & "The Alchemist"

What's on your night stand right now?: The Holy Bible, Change the Way You See Everything Through Asset-Based Thinking, Presence, my Rosary, pictures of my family, and an antique iron statue of an angle (a gift from my husband).

Who/what/where inspires you?
People inspire me. I am constantly in awe of the creations of God.

Hobbies/interests/extra-curricular activities outside SU: My family is my greatest pleasure, but I also love fishing, hunting, finding and refinishing old furniture, jewelry making & sewing.

Activities/interests/associations on campus:  Vaughn-Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts—Higher Education Collaborative; Texas Association for Gifted and Talented; ATPE co-sponsor; International Reading Association; Texas Reading Association; Learning Disabilities Association of America; Pi Lambda Theta; Kappa Delta Pi; American Association of University Professors; Teacher Education Committee

What is your favorite class to teach?  I enjoy all the classes I teach; however, I love teaching Diagnosis and Remediation in Reading. Children from the Kerr County area come to campus. The students enrolled in this class use screening and intervention reading strategies designed to promote student achievement in the area of reading. I get to view the lessons I teach put into practice by my students.

Why do you like Schreiner? I am a Schreiner University alumni, and I believe in this University. The students are wonderful and the faculty, staff, and administration make it a pleasure to come to work.
