Title:
Voice
Instructor
Hometown:
Kerrville,
Texas
Alma Maters:
I studied voice and music
education at the University of North Texas,
Denton for four years, and then elementary
education and voice at Schreiner University for
two years. I graduated from SU with a degree in
music.
How long have you been with SU?
Since August 2006

Favorite movie:
"Little Women"
(with Winona Ryder) and "Forever After" (with
Drew Barrymore) are my two favorite movies.
Favorite food:
Tortilla soup from Mamacita's is my all-time
favorite meal.
Favorite type of music:
I enjoy music that lifts my
spirit, not drags it down. That would include
select songs from all genres. My favorite genre
is pure worship music that focuses my thoughts
on Jesus and who He is.
Favorite vacation spot:
So far, my favorite vacation
spot is the Texas Gulf Coast, but next year my
family will take a three-week vacation traveling
the Eastern U.S. coast, and I imagine I'll find
affection for a few favorite vacation spots
along the way.
Favorite book:
My favorite books: all Frank Peretti books,
Randy Alcorn books, biographies, Beth Moore
books, and Stormie Omartian books.
What's on your night stand right now?:
"Lord, I Want to Be
Whole," and "The Power of Prayer and Scripture
in Emotional Healing" by Stormie Omartian
Who/what/where
inspires you & why?
My family, church family,
and homeschool association family inspire me to
grow as a person and embrace God's purpose for
my life. I know who I am and why I'm on this
earth. These dear people encourage me and teach
me.
Hobbies/interests/extra-curricular activities OUTSIDE SU:
I enjoying being with my
family, singing, reading, quilting, and
learning. I am active at First Baptist
Church, Kerrville. I teach an adult Sunday
School class, sing on the praise team, and am in
the choir. I am the President of the Hill
Country Home School Association. I have home
schooled my children now for 5 1/2 years and
have for the last few years schooled other
children as well. I am the treasurer of Harmony
of the Hills, which is a club of music teachers
in the area. I teach private voice lessons.
Why
do you like Schreiner? I like
Schreiner because you're not just a social
security number. The teachers at SU are
excellent in their fields and have an eagerness
to see their students learn and grow. Students
matter at SU. |
