Financial Aid Tips
-
Some type of assistance is available. All families qualify
for some type of assistance. Don’t pass up the opportunity
to apply for financial aid because you feel your income is
too high.
-
Be an informed consumer – take advantage of all sessions
offered during campus visits and high school nights. These
are great ways to garner additional information.
-
Start early – begin looking now for scholarships for which
you may be eligible. Learn what the criteria are and if
grades are part of the criteria, strive to make the grades
you need.
-
Timing is crucial! Become knowledgeable about the financial
aid process by paying careful attention to published
deadlines.
-
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
as early as possible. When completing the FAFSA, you are
applying for federal, state and institutional need-based
financial aid. Keep a copy of the FAFSA and the documents
you used to complete the FAFSA. You may need to submit some
or all of them to the schools to which you are applying.
-
Respond promptly to all requests for additional
documentation from the schools to which you are applying.
When submitting the documents, make sure all documents are
complete, signed, dated and that the student’s name and
social security number are prominently displayed on each
one.
-
Keep photocopies of all documents you submit to the
Financial Aid Office and other organizations. These copies
may come in handy when you have questions at a later date.

The
Office of Financial Aid at Schreiner University is committed to
assisting students in obtaining the best financial aid award possible.
However, it is the student’s responsibility to comply with all
requirements necessary to complete the financial aid process. In
addition, the Office of Financial Aid is not responsible for the
student's financial obligations to Schreiner University. Each student
must verify their account balance and make arrangements for any amounts
not covered by financial aid. |
