Current Students: Federal Graduate PLUS Loans
Loans money is money for the student’s educational expenses that must be paid back to the lender.
Since the Federal Direct Student loans have a lower interest rate, we urge you to consider using that program before applying for a Graduate PLUS loan.
For 2011–2012, the Federal Graduate PLUS loan has a 7.9% interest rate. As the name implies, it is similar to the Parent PLUS loan, and requires credit approval and GradPLUS entrance loan counseling.
Parents and graduate students getting PLUS loans are required to sign master promissory notes (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov. Be sure to sign the appropriate type of MPN for the loan you are receiving (Graduate students would sign the Graduate PLUS MPN and not the PLUS MPN).
See the financial aid office if you are interested in this loan. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org, 1-800-343-4919 or 830-792-7217, or visit us in person in the Welcome Center. Our office is open Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm.

The Office of Financial Aid at Schreiner University is committed to assisting students in obtaining the best financial aid award possible. However, it is the student’s responsibility to comply with all requirements necessary to complete the financial aid process. In addition, the Office of Financial Aid is not responsible for the student's financial obligations to Schreiner University. Each student must verify their account balance and make arrangements for any amounts not covered by financial aid.
