Volunteer Program: Appreciation Party
Hill Country Shooting Sports Complex
On April 3, 2007 Schreiner University honored University volunteers with an Island Recognition Bash at Mamacita’s Restaurant in Kerrville, complete with Hawaiian shirts, island dresses and leis. Volunteers Diane Green and Julie Schlichting were cited for their outstanding contributions to Schreiner this past year. Green has worked with the Hill Country College Fund for several years and was chairman this past year. Schlichting is a nurse anesthetist and first-time Schreiner volunteer who works in the Schreiner University Health and Wellness Center.
Two current Schreiner students, Johnny Eaton and Kristi Click, spoke about their experiences with volunteers on the campus, in the admissions department and with campus ministry.
The program for the evening also included an invocation and welcome from Schreiner President Dr. Tim Summerlin, and remarks about volunteer opportunities from Kerrville Mayor Gene Smith and Mark Tuschak, Schreiner vice president of advancement and public relations.
