Hybrid Online Graduate Program

Testimonials

Online learning means grabbing your cup of coffee, turning on your computer ...

"I work just down the road in Comfort as director of cross-curricular studies at a teacher academy. I've been looking for years—this is my 11th year in education as a middle school teacher and working in curriculum—for a program like Schreiner's. It's been whirlwind, but it's been very beneficial to me as a full time mom as well. I have three little boys and a full time job that doesn't stop in the summer. My knowledge level I have gained here has been incredible. I've really enjoyed the instructors and what they've given to me in the way of professional development.

"A lot of the information has been given through a variety of courses. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is in my position-- as a full time teacher and a mom and a full time job all through the year—definitely to inspire other people to come here and to gain the knowledge through the experiences you gain in this professional learning community. It's been really great!" - Jamie Humprey

"I graduated in 2009 from Schreiner University and I played softball all four year. I'm in my first year teaching PE and coaching girls athletics at Pearsall Junior High in Pearsall, Texas. I decided to come back for professional development reason, more than anything, since I'm just starting my career. I did read the testimonials on the website. I knew the environment that Schreiner has; it's a small school and I loved it when I came here all four years. That really helped me make my decision in coming back.

"Once I finish the Master's program here at Schreiner, I hope to take everything I've learned to help me become a better coach and a more effective leader in my educational career." - Tara Gonzales

"The genius of the Hybrid Graduate Program in Education is the interdisciplinary design that provides insightful, engaging and meaningful assignments. The Schreiner faculty actually practices what they preach by modeling textbook concepts in the classroom. During my first semester of coursework, I was motivated to modify my grading system and design a set of student centered lessons for my Advance Placement U.S Government course. The Graduate Program in Education has been a fantastic experience, inspiring me to join my high school design team and lead discussions in our professional learning community." - Brent L. Ostos

“Attending Schreiner University’s Online Hybrid Graduate Program in Education and Principal Certification Program has been one of the best decisions I have made in my career. By accomplishing the goal of completing a Master’s degree in education, I have positioned myself to be successful and qualified for any administrative or educational position that presents itself. When I first considered attending Schreiner University, I was unsure whether I would be able to juggle having a family, a full time job and the academics. I can honestly say that the program is tailored for individuals just like me. The professors and school staff quickly become an extended part of your family. They care for you and want to see you succeed. Anyone wanting a first rate education that is sure to further your career needs to look to Schreiner University.” - Kyla West

“Going back for my Master’s degree in education after being out of school for 20 years was a bit intimidating, to say the least. I work full time and have a very busy family life. After attending an informal meeting about the Master’s program offered at Schreiner University, I knew this was the program for me. The professors are very knowledgeable, warm and caring. I was able to complete the program within one year, and I am now enrolled in the Principal Certification Program at Schreiner. I feel like I received an excellent education, and Schreiner definitely keeps up with the newest innovations in education. If you are considering furthering your education, Schreiner University’s Graduate Program is the best!” - Dana Dunagan

“It is never too late for personal and professional growth. When I decided that I was ready to expand my horizons, I looked into several universities. However, the day I visited Schreiner University and met with the director of the Hybrid Online Graduate Program, Dr. Neva Cramer, I knew exactly where I wanted to be. I am currently in my third semester and have received a very valuable and high quality education from fun, intelligent, and devoted professors. Plutarch stated, “The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be ignited.” The folks at Schreiner know how to strike a match; the rest is up to you.”
- Darlene Stevens

"After searching many graduate programs, Schreiner was the program that met my needs the most. Schreiner offers the best of both worlds with the combination of in class and online courses. As a first grade teacher, wife, and a mother of a two year old and a four year old, I have the convenience of doing my school work, on my schedule, which is after my children are asleep and with occasional scheduled classes. This allows me to continue to spend quality time with my family, as before entering graduate school. I am able to successfully balance my profession along side my graduate studies and class work. Within this program I have formed a special relationship with my cohort.

We are able to learn from and support one another. So much expertise and knowledge has been acquired not only from our highly skilled and knowledgeable professors, but also from one another. The assignments are very meaningful and applicable to our current educational needs, enabling us to integrate the newly acquired knowledge and skills, within our current positions. Schreiner professors are on top of current educational research and issues, which has brought great awareness, knowledge, and discussion that has been applied to our own campus' needs. The professors meet and correlate the classes and assignments so that they are closely linked and spiral from one another. When I look back remembering the fear and hesitations that I had about attending graduate school, I feel so blessed and thankful that I chose Schreiner. Schreiner's program, professors, and my cohort have inspired and motivated me in so many ways. I feel so much more confidence in my knowledge about education, which has transferred and shown throughout my current teaching position, even without the official Master's Degree attached to my name quite yet. In today's current educational system teachers are faced with many challenges and I highly recommend taking the next step and furthering your education, which not only benefits your students, but yourself and so many others. Our students and society deserve the best, and I feel Schreiner helps tremendously in achieving this goal!" - Leslie Durst

Patricia Rivera

"The online graduate program at Schreiner University has exceeded my expectations. As a busy wife, mother, and first grade teacher, the online classes allow me the flexibility to complete my schoolwork in the evenings at my convenience. My professors are dedicated professionals, committed to providing me with a high quality education. I love the online collaboration with my cohort. Sharing views and ideas about education with a group of intelligent individuals, has helped me grow as an educator and a person. I look forward to the once a month Saturday classes on campus that give me the opportunity to collaborate personally with my professors and my cohort." - Patricia Rivera

"Having received my bachelor's degree over 30 years ago, going back to college was a bit daunting, but working with the Schreiner professors and collaboratively with the other graduate students has been a very positive experience for me. I love the way the professors seem to guide us through the different learning strands and so often coordinate the learning in the different classes to fit together like pieces of a puzzle. There is such continuity in the program that I feel I am receiving a "well rounded" education on a very high level. I am learning to be a new kind of learner...pretty exciting and somewhat unexpected. I'm very glad that I made the decision to commit to this new endeavor." - Peggy Thompson

"I chose to attend Schreiner University because of its reputation as an excellent liberal arts university. Attending classes via the Internet is an added bonus. I live and teach in San Antonio. Schreiner’s online courses allow me the luxury of completing my graduate work in the comfort of my home, while saving time and money on travel. Meeting once a month at the university with my cohort and professors allows me the personal collaboration that is so important without sacrificing the rigor expected from a graduate program." - Kathy Barker

"At Schreiner University, my cohort group is a family. We learn and grow together. My professors are always available for questions, concerns, and support. The online program is wonderful because I am getting the same education, but only giving up five of my Saturdays a semester. It truly is the perfect program meeting all of my personal and educational needs." - Lyndsay Givens
