Dr. Belle Wheelan,
president of the Southern
Association of Colleges and
Schools’ (S.A.C.S.) Commission
on Colleges, will deliver the
commencement address, “The Last
Lecture.” S.A.C.S. is the
accrediting agency for colleges
and universities within the
11-state region that includes
Texas.
Dr. Wheelan is a former
secretary of education for the
state of Virginia who began her
community college administration
career at San Antonio College.
She is currently a member of the
Presidents’ Round Table of the
National Council on Black
American Affairs. Dr. Wheelan
was awarded her Bachelor of Arts
degree from Trinity University
in San Antonio, majoring in both
psychology and sociology. She
earned a doctorate in
educational administration from
the University of Texas. |
