vacation spot:
Day trip-wise, it's Austin, hands down. A real vacation -- Seattle is
mighty nice on several levels.what's on your night-stand right now? (book/CD/video): Chomsky's "Keeping the Rabble in Line" and Thomas' "Cuba" who/what/where INSPIRES you & why? Anyone overcoming a stacked deck and making progress toward their goals. hobbies/interests/extra-curricular activities OUTSIDE SU: reading, writing and exercising, with the writing emerging as my favorite lately. activities/interests/associations
ON CAMPUS:AAUP and keeping the "Speak Truth To Power" program up and running . Plus, there are a couple of secret campus societies I belong to, but I can't divulge those because they are secret... (well, the Trismegistus Society isn't so secret... I'm the Assistant Grand Decoder for that one...) favorite class to teach @ SU & why: Global Issues in a Cultural Context for two reasons: (1) It allows me to have contact with student outside the EXSI discipline and (2) It helps keep me current on issues affecting us all. ![]() why (do you like) Schreiner? It's probably the only university in the world that would hire someone like me and then have it work for both parties. It is a close-knit community, top-to-bottom; left-to-right. |
