I finally got to London last week after a horribly long flight, but
never-the-less I got to the airport safe and sound to find a maze of lines
for foreigners to go through. As I am not a terrorist - I seemed to get
through the process just fine.
I live in a house with Professor Claire and Ruth, and twelve classmates, all of which are females, except for one, Phil. All of the students I am with
this semester attend Eckerd College in Florida. We live on Gower Street in
the Camden area, and I live in a single room on the very top floor...six
flights up, and I share one tiny bathroom (think the size of an RV restroom) with four other girls -- it gets to be a little obnoxious at times, but I'm in London, so I can't complain.
After a few classes I know surprising a lot about British history, I could
challenge any first grader here! We have visited many places, including
Westminster, St. Paul's, art galleries, and theatre performances. Since
London is an international city, there are so many things to see and
experience, it is going to be a long semester.
It just started to get a
little chilly, and I hope it continues. We have only had one rainy day
though, and that is a little disappointing, I brought a whole hoopla of rain gear, and it is just waiting to be used. I have so much to see and do and only a semester to do it in-so I guess I better be off to see the world!
