Garrett in Spain
Journal #1
Posted 9-10-03:
Hello all. Just giving a little update on the Spain adventure. I have started my class last week and it is really helpful, but difficult as well. The class is an intensive course that only runs a month but the class is a continuous four hour. We learn a lot, but it's hard to sit four hours without a break.

The weekends are great here. I have set up schedule so that every other weekend I am traveling to various cities. This past weekend i went to Nerja, a beach south of Granada. It was beautiful and made me realize that Texas beaches are horrific looking compared to the real world.
This coming weekend I'm going to Cadiz and Ronda. Cadiz is another beach city but it is much larger than Nerja, and on the way back from Cadiz I will stop in Ronda to see the bull fighting museum. Ronda is supposed to be beautiful.
I have made a lot of friends here but not too many Spaniards. I'm going to the movies tonight with some people and I think some Spaniards are coming as well. We're going to see 'Respiro', which means 'breathe' in English.
My family here is wonderful...they let me roam as I please and my senora is trying to make me fat for how much food she feeds me. It is great here! I wish all of you could experience it.

Well I hope all is well in the states. Keep in contact,
