well hello world! I know that it has been a while since you have heard
from me but I was sick the week before last and missed every class so
this past week I had to play catch up. since I am still sick I have
not done much the past couple of weeks.
this past weekend I did travel
though.I went to Ronda which is a small town about 3 hours from
Granada famous for there history of bullfighting.
I have mentioned Ronda before in other emails. when I went to
Cadiz I was going to go to Ronda, remember, and then I mentioned
it again in my email about Seville saying that Ronda is famous for
the starting the whole bullfighting thing. also if you have read
Ernest Hemmingway you will know that he liked Ronda a lot and in his
book for whom the bells tolls he writes about Ronda.
Ronda is built around large
cliffs that were formed by the tajo river. for those who have been
asking, I am returning on the 20th and yeah I guess I am excited about
returning to see the family.
well
anyway, on to the pictures.three weekends ago I went to the Alhambra
with curro my host brother and his girlfriend Marta. the first picture
is of them two in generalife.
the
second is a picture of Puente Nuevo (new bridge) in Ronda which
is pretty famous in Spain because in the past when someone did
something wrong, they would get thrown off this bridge. the bridge
is approximately 350 feet high.
the third
picture is a picture of the bottom of a mine I walked down. the mine
starts at the top of the cliffs and ends up in the river. yeah
there are a lot of steps to climb to get to the bottom. the picture is
taken looking towards the new bridge.
the
fourth picture is in the center of the Ronda bullring. it was a rush
standing in the middle of a bullring. I was able to walk throughout
all of the bullring and the corrals and whatnot. well I am sorry
that I have to cut this short but I have a lot of homework for
tomorrow.
un besito
