hello all!
i just wanted to let you all know that i did not travel this past weekend because the weather was horrible here, but i did have a great weekend!

my host brother and i spent the whole weekend together. i do believe that he will be able to travel over to the states this summer so i am excited, but this means that you all need to get your spanish into gear because he already told me that he was only going to speak spanish. also just so you all know, i am doing well in my classes and understanding the language is becoming easier and easier every day.

ok ok now to the good stuff! the pictures are from my valencia trip. i will send two batches (one today and another later this week) hope you all enjoy.

this first picture was the first thing i got to see on friday morning. believe it or not, this is the train station! it is definitely the prettiest train station i have ever seen! the outside was beautiful and for the inside, it did not lack any character at all. if one would look to the left (facing the station) you would see valencia´s plaza de toros (it too is very impressive.)

the second picture is of Valencia's cathedral. if you were indiana jones and you were looking for the holy grail this would be the place to look! in a room inside the cathedral is what they believe to be the holy grail interesting no?

the third and fourth pictures are pictures of plaza de la virgen. this first one was taken from the top of the tower that you see. in the second photo (i know the tower does not look tall but to walk to the top one would have to climb about 250 steps...it is very tall!) was a magnificent view of the city.

the forth is of the plaza again but taken facing the cathedral i absolutely loved this plaza and i have to take a picture after seeing the mom taking care of her child. usually this plaza is full of people since it is in the heart of valencia.

the fifth and last picture is a picture of the town square (but in valencia it is actually a triangle).
to the right you can see the town hall which was a sight to see...the fountain in the front of the town hall had lights that changed the water different colors. it was just one more thing that gave valencia so much character.

well i hope you all enjoyed. i will send more pictures of valencia probably wednesday.
