Dr. Don Crandall, Schreiner University’s director of music, will be performing with the Symphony of the Hills on April 20 & 27

Dr. Donald Crandall was born and raised in Norwich, N.Y., and began studying piano at age four.

Dr. Donald CrandallHe received his Bachelor of Music degree from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. He earned his Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass.

Dr. Crandall then taught music for two years at the South Shore Conservatory of Music and the Powers Music School in Massachusetts. He then moved to Texas to pursue his doctorate of musical arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

In 1997, Dr. Crandall began teaching at Schreiner University where he serves as director of the music department and teaches several courses.   He has been performing with the Symphony of The Hills since 2003.

In addition to performing Dr. Crandall enjoys weightlifting and riding his motorcycle through the beautiful Hill Country of Texas.
