Schreiner University Presents Harry Crate Lecture Series March 7
Dr. Tom J. Mabry will be the featured speaker at Schreiner University’s Harry Crate Lecture Series Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
His lecture titled, “Forty Years of Plant Chemistry: From the Unusual Red Betatain Pigments in Cactus Flowers to Unusual Elicited Flavonoids in Cactus Cell Cultures” will be held in the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center Ballroom. It is free and open to the public.
Mabry is a professor of molecular cell and developmental biology at the University of Texas at Austin.
He is a worldwide lecturer, and was selected for the Research Achievement Award of the American Society of Pharmacognosy in 2000 in recognition of his sustained and outstanding contributions to the field of medicinal plant chemistry. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus at A&M-Commerce in 1970.
