Schreiner University Choir Hosts Fundraiser March 4
The Schreiner University Choir will present “Music of the Night” Saturday, March 4th at 6 p.m. in the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center Ballroom. Tickets are $20 and include a dinner of raspberry chicken, Mediterranean salad, green beans with almonds, steamed potatoes and dessert.
Special guest, the Oak Leaf String Quartet, will help perform an Andrew Lloyd Webber medley, plus songs from the musicals “Wicked,” “Aida” and much more. Proceeds from the event will help support Schreiner’s choir on its 2007 Italy tour. During the tour they will perform at an international music festival and with local Italian choirs. “This trip will give the students a chance to experience and participate in a fine musical and cultural experience,” said Michael Kahl, director of Schreiner’s choir. “To be able to represent Schreiner University and the Hill Country area at a musical event in Italy is a great honor and we are extremely excited about this opportunity.”
