Schreiner University Professor’s Art Show Raises $1,810 for the American Red Cross
Schreiner University Professor of Art John Pruessner donated 82 pieces of his artwork to be auctioned off, raising $1,810 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Pruessner, who received his MFA from Tulane University in New Orleans, was deeply moved by the disaster this past summer.
The donated pieces, which he created during the past few years, included photography, ceramics and drawings. Eighty of the pieces were sold for the benefit of the American Red Cross’s hurricane relief effort.
Pruessner’s work was sold at two different auctions held on the Schreiner campus. Daletta Andreas, the local director of the American Red Cross chapter, said the money will go to help those effected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. “This is just wonderful and very much needed,” she said.
