Texas Music Coffeehouse Series to Celebrate Native American Heritage Month Nov. 1
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, Texas’ own Ruben V will be the last performer featured in the Texas Music Coffeehouse Series on November 1st at 7 p.m. at the Corner Pocket in the Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner University campus.
Winner of several best guitarist, best songwriter, and best blues band awards, he has played with fellow music legends Gatemouth Brown, George Thorgood, Joe Ely, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Ruben has also been attributed in Action Magazine as being, “Born with a powerful and soulful voice, and the guitar strokes which are owned only by a chosen few.”
Sylvia Kirk, another San Antonio artist, who has been called “the best kept secret in Texas music, will accompany him.” Together they will rock the stage at 8p.m. after the open mike at 7p.m.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Texas Heritage Music Foundation and Schreiner University’s Center for Innovative Learning. For more information, contact Dr. Kathleen Hudson at 792-7409 or visit www.texasheritagemusic.org.
