AFA Heart of the Hills Chapter Presents Check To Hill Country College Fund

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Air Force Association Heart of the Hills chapter recently presented Schreiner University’s Hill Country College Fund with a check for $730.36. The Air Force Association is an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization promoting public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation.

Air Force Association“The AFA Heart of the Hills chapter is disbanding and chose to contribute the remainder of their organization’s funds to Hill Country College Fund,” said Jennifer Farhoudi, associate director of development for annual giving at Schreiner University. “We are honored that they chose to use this money to help local students. This very special gift will help Hill Country students realize their dreams of a college education.”

Since the Hill Country College Fund began in 1977, it has provided more than $8 million in need-based tuition assistance to students from Kimble, Kerr, Gillespie, Kendall, Bandera, Real, and Edwards counties and helps more than 250 Hill Country Students annually. Hill Country College Fund grants provide an average of over $2,900 a year per recipient and one hundred percent of funds raised goes to student scholarships.
