On Thursday, Nov. 2,
the
Harry Crate lecture series at Schreiner
University will feature Dr. Gary Garrett
speaking about the management and conservation
of Native Texas fishes. This event is free
and open to the public, and begins at
7:30 pm in the Cailloux Campus Activity
Center Ballroom.
Garrett
has worked as a conservation biologist in the
research division of the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department since
1982. His research interests are centered on the
conservation of natural resources in Texas, and
he has authored more than 60 scientific
publications on the subject.
Throughout the years, the Harry Crate lecture
series has brought Nobel Prize-winning
scientists and successful technology
entrepreneurs to campus. Professor Crate was a
teacher at Schreiner from 1940 to 1980.
