Schreiner offers A+ computer certification to students, public

The School of Professional Studies at Schreiner University will offer a six-week CompTIA A+ Essentials computer certification course, starting May 15. The classes will meet 6-9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost for the class is $395, which includes textbook, CD and instruction.

A+ certification is aimed at computer technicians, office IT support personnel and other IT workers, as well as for students. Many companies require certification for their IT employees.

Dr. David Teneyuca, assistant professor in Schreiner’s management information systems department, said the course will focus on both hardware and software components of computer systems.

“We welcome anyone who wants to learn how to tear apart a computer and successfully put it back together,” Teneyuca said.
