The
Cleveland Council on World Affairs has invited
Dr. Ronald Hatchett, director of the Center for
Global Studies at Schreiner University, to speak at
a public forum in Cleveland, Ohio, Jan. 15 and
16, 2008. Dr. Hatchett will lead a panel
discussion on “Selling Them the Rope: How U.S.
Policy Blunders Promote Militant Islam.” He also
will address a CCWA dinner meeting the night before
the panel.
CCWA is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization
founded on the principle that an informed citizenry
is the basis of democracy. In 1947, it cosponsored
with Time magazine an Institute on World Affairs
that provided the basis for the Marshall Plan. It
was the primary plan of the United States for
rebuilding and creating a stronger foundation for
the allied countries of Europe, and repelling
communism after World War II. |
