Schreiner University & Texas Heritage Music Foundation present final fall Coffeehouse Nov. 7

Schreiner University and the Texas Heritage Music Foundation will wrap up the fall 2007 Texas Music Coffeehouse series Wednesday, Nov. 7. Walt Wilkins and The Mystiqueros will treat attendees to a performance.

Wilkins, a gifted Texas songwriter, and his new group of exceptional musicians have recently released their debut album, “Diamonds in the Sun.” Although their live performances have drawn comparisons to the Eagles, they also reflect influences such as Poco, The Lost Gonzo Band and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Band members include Wilkins on acoustic guitar, Bill Small on bass, percussion and acoustic guitar, John M. Greenberg and Marcus Eldridge on electric guitars and Ramon Rodriguez on drums and percussion.

The Coffeehouse takes place from 7-9 p.m. in the Lion’s Den (formerly the Corner Pocket) of the Schreiner Cailloux Campus Activity Center. Open mike is at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsors for the fall 2007 Coffeehouse series are Texas Heritage Music Foundation, Center for Innovative Learning, Schreiner Student Activities, Chi Phi Fraternity, The Muse, Sigma Tau Delta and REV-FM Radio. For more information, contact Dr. Kathleen Hudson at (830) 792-1945.
