The Schreiner
University Ethics Team will compete along with 18 other
Texas independent colleges and universities in Ethics Match,
“Ethics in Business,” Nov. 2 in Ft. Worth. Team members are,
from left to right: Wes Blankman (Hunt), Aaron Yates
(Kerrville), Kelli Kunz (Johnson City), Emily Medchill (The
Woodlands) and Dr. Charles Torti, team sponsor and assistant
professor of business at Schreiner. |
|
The purpose of the annual competition is to enrich educational
opportunities for students by providing a forum for discussion of
applied business ethics, as well as to raise awareness of the value
of independent higher education, and of the thoughtful discussion
and reasoned argument that are the cornerstones of a liberal arts
education.
James Avery, founder, chairman and CEO of
James Avery Craftsman, Inc., will
be the guest speaker opening the event. James Avery Craftsman is a
major supporter of Schreiner’s
Hill Country College Fund, which
helps Hill Country students continue their educations.
TICF was founded in 1952 as a vehicle to facilitate corporate and
foundation support of Texas’ independent colleges and universities.
TICF raises money for scholarships and programming from corporate
and philanthropic leaders who believe that a values-based education
serving a racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse student
population is good for Texas and for the world.

president for development, at (817) 731-4686 or by e-mail at
