SU Artist in Residence to give cello recital

Cellist and Schreiner University Artist in Residence Basel Sarweh will give a recital at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Dietert Auditorium on the University campus. Award-winning pianist Thomas Hrynkiw will accompany Sarweh.

Sarweh, who has been playing cello since he was seven years old, is principal cellist with Symphony of the Hills, and teaches cello for the Hill Country Youth Orchestras and at Schreiner.

His program will include Sonata No. 1 in A Minor, by Antonio Vivaldi; Cello Sonata No. 3 in A Major, by Ludwig van Beethoven; and Sonata in G Major, by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The concert is free and open to the public.
