Schreiner series presents
‘Who Killed the Electric Car?’

Dr. Tom Wells, professor of exercise science at Schreiner University, will present the 2006 documentary film “Who Killed the Electric Car?” as part of the University’s Speak Truth to Power series, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Cailloux Theater on the Schreiner campus.

“Who Killed the Electric Car?” is about the birth and death of electric vehicles, in particular the General Motors EV1, developed in the 1990s, and how is disappeared due to actions of the auto industry, U.S. government and consumers The film addresses issues of renewable powers and features appearances by celebrities such as Mel Gibson, Ed Begley Jr. and Phyllis Diller. Martin Sheen narrates the film, which was written and directed by Chris Paine.
