Schreiner University is hosting its first
volunteer fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 in the
ballroom of the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the
Schreiner campus.
According to Elizabeth Loggie, Schreiner’s
volunteer coordinator, the purpose of the fair is to bring together area
nonprofit organizations, community members and students, faculty and staff
from Schreiner. Loggie expects the fair to raise awareness of community
needs and resources, and provide volunteers to nonprofits.
Participating nonprofit organizations include Art 2 Heart, Big Brothers Big
Sisters, Doyle School Community Center, Hill Country CASA, Hill Country
Crisis Council, Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, Kerr County YMCA, Kerrville
Performing Arts Society, Kids’ Advocacy Place, Schreiner University’s
Community Volunteer Program and Volunteer Services Council for Kerrville
State Hospital.
“We would love the community to come and visit with us and these
nonprofits,” Loggie said. “This is one-stop shopping for volunteer
opportunities in the Hill Country.”
