Schreiner University Choir raising money for Carnegie Hall performance

The Schreiner University Choir has an opportunity to perform at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall in April 2008. In order to raise money for the trip, they are selling discount cards for 33 local restaurants and businesses. The cards are good through September 2, 2008, and cost $25.

Among many money-saving offers are 50 percent off weekend rentals and 10 percent off weekday rentals with Enterprise, 25 percent off purchases at Office Max, 15 percent off at Mary’s Tacos and 15 percent off at Rails-A Café at the Depot.

The cards can be purchased from any choir member or from choir director Michael Kahl. Money raised by individual choir members will be credited to that student’s trip account; other sales are credited to a general trip account, which will be shared among the students going to New York.

Participating merchants are: Ackman Pharmacy, Billy Gene’s Restaurant, Block Buster Video, Brown’s Drive In, Café Riverstone, Cartridge World, Cecil Atkinson’s, CiCi’s Pizza, Classic Car Care, Cowboy Steak House, Discount Tire, Enterprise Rental, Gibson’s Discount Center, Great Clips, Jefferson Street Cafe, J-O Ranch Steak House, Liteways Healthier Eating, Lemon Tree Cleaners, Mamacita’s, Mary’s Tacos, MG Builders, Neu-Mart, Office Max, Paw Paws BBQ, Quiznos Subs, Rails-A Café at the Depot , River Hills Automotive, River Hills Country Club Golf Shop, State-Aire, Tantanic, The Home Center, The Jazz (open Nov. 1), Willie’s Lawn Care.
