Schreiner sport shooters take medals in world skeet championship

Schreiner University students Jacob Michelson and Cameron Schuster made a good showing at the recent World Skeet Shooting Championship in San Antonio. The event brought together more than 1,000 entrants from as far away as South Africa.

Michelson took 9th place in 12 gauge E Class. Schuster, competing in the Sub Sub Sub Senior category for the 20-30 age group, brought home 10 medals, including five first-place wins for 28 gauge; 410, both Class 2 and 2-man team, Class 2; High Over All 4 gun; and High All Around 5 gun, Class A. Joseph Corder also shot for Schreiner.

The men are members of the Schreiner Shooting Sports Society, coached by Bill Thomas.

“We can all be proud of the fine young men who represented Schreiner University in this competition,” Thomas said.
