At its annual meeting
in Savannah last week, the
Association of Presbyterian Colleges
and Universities re-elected
Schreiner University president,
Dr. Tim Summerlin, to a
three-year term on its board of
directors. He has served on the
board since 2005.
“APCU provides the opportunity for
presidents from similar colleges to
address issues and goals they and
their institutions share,” said
Summerlin. “I find that it offers
both practical insights and a deeper
appreciation for what it means to
fully live the role of a
church-related institution of higher
education. It is a pleasure to serve
on the board of that association.”
APCU is a voluntary association
of colleges and universities that
have an historic relationship with
the Presbyterian Church (USA). The
association has 62 member colleges
and universities in 32 states and
Puerto Rico. It exists to promote
these schools and to assist the
presidents and their staffs in
strengthening their institutions.
