Prize-winning Novel To Be Focus of Monday Night Fiction

 

Schreiner University’s popular Monday Night Fiction series will start off its 2008-09 season Sept. 15 with “Out Stealing Horses” by award-winning Norwegian novelist Per Petterson. Monday Night Fiction meets at 7 p.m. in the Scarle-Philips Room in the William Logan Library on the Schreiner campus. Dr. Lydia Kualapai, assistant professor of English at Schreiner, will lead the discussion.

In the original Norwegian, “Ut og stjæle hester” won two top literary prizes in Norway. The English translation, by Anne Born, received the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize for 2006 and International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award in 2007.
