The Schreiner University Pre-Law Society, a campus
organization for students planning to pursue the legal profession, will host
a forum for candidates for district judge in the 216th judicial district.
The forum will take place from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, in
the Dietert Auditorium on the Schreiner campus. There is no charge to
attend.
All four candidates in that district—Harold Danford, Joe Davis, Doyle Weaver
and Keith Williams—will take part in the forum, according to society
president Lazaro Alvarez. Alvarez added that the forum is a good opportunity
for students and the public to meet the candidates.
“The forum is one of several initiatives this year by Schreiner University’s
student Pre-Law Society, and will be moderated by pre-law students and open
to the public,” said Dr. Anne Berre, Schreiner law professor and coach of
the schools Moot Court and Mediation teams.
