Women
members of Schreiner
University’s
shooting team
recently brought a
pile of awards back
to the university
from the
USA Shooting
National
Championship.
Schreiner Shooting
Sports Society
team members took
awards in Women’s
Open Trap and
Women’s Junior Trap,
as well as several
team and individual
awards. |

In Women’s Open Trap,
Caitlin Barney, an incoming
Schreiner freshman, took 5th
place overall. Rachael
Heiden and Kelsey Zauhar, a
recent transfer student,
took 6th and 8th place
respectively, and Tori
Burch, also an incoming
freshman, took 12th. Barney,
Heiden and Burch also placed
3rd, 4th and 6th in Women’s
Junior Trap.
Heiden’s shooting earned her
both High Junior and High
Collegiate honors. Zauhar
took 1st place Class A
honors, while Burch placed
2nd in Class C.
In team shooting, Barney
shot on a three-person team
that took first place, and
Barney and Zauhar placed
second as a two-person team.
The two-person team of
Heiden and Burch also
finished in second place for
junior women.
The
Schreiner Shooting Sports
Society, coached by
longtime competitive shooter

successfully competed almost
from its inception two years
