Schreiner
University’s
Campus Ministry
and Kerrville
Ministerial
Alliance will
co-sponsor a
Crop Hunger Walk
2-4 p.m.,
Sunday, Nov. 23.
They also are
asking for
donations of
canned goods for
the Christian
Assistance
Ministry in
Kerrville and
monetary
donations that
will go to the
local St.
Vincent de Paul
Society and
Church World
Service, all
organizations
that help the
poor and hungry.
The Schreiner
Crop Walk will
take place on
the university
campus, with
nine buildings
representing
locations in the
world where many
people are
living in
poverty and
going hungry.
There will be
educational
information and
games at each
stop. The walk
will begin at
the Robbins
Lewis Pavilion
on the Schreiner
campus. Each
walker or group
will receive a
map and a
passport to
hunger and
poverty, and
participants are
encouraged to
find sponsors
and donate the
funds they
raise, although
people may
participate
without
donating.
